How to customise your Jenny Nordic Skincare ritual

How to customise your Jenny Nordic Skincare ritual

Skincare is not one fits all and not one skin is the same. What your skin needs might change if not daily, at least weekly. The seasons, weather, hormonal cycle and diet can all affect your skin.

We want to help you maintain balanced skin through the seasons and hormonal changes.

A minimal approach to skincare means using fewer products, but how can you customise your ritual without increasing the number of products used? Jenny Nordic Skincare ritual is customisable to your skin’s needs, even with only three products.

Two hands

Two ways to apply

You can choose the way to apply your skincare products based on your preferences, skin and time available.

  1. Cleanse your skin first. Whilst your skin is still damp, start layering your skincare. Apply first a few drops of Rehydrate & Balance Beauty Essence by patting the essence gently on the skin. Continue with 3-5 drops of Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum.
  2. If layering is not your thing, you can mix the essence and oil serum together in your palm before applying the mix on damp, clean skin. This method is perfect for you if you are lacking time, don’t like layering products, or don’t like the feel of the oil on your skin. You can adjust the ratio of the products you use to meet your skin’s needs.

Skintypes: Dry skin, breakout-prone skin, oily skin

How to customise your skincare?

Knowing your skin and skin type is one of the basic pillars of any skincare routine. Before you can customise your skincare ritual, you need to have one established.

Our guide on how to create an amazing, minimal skincare routine will help you choose the essential products for any skincare ritual. A lot of times just staying consistent with your skincare ritual is enough - but there’s always room for little tweaks if you’re up for it. Key to healthy glowing skin is a strong skin barrier.

Dry skin produces less oil than other skin types. The skin appears dull and rough and can feel itchy and irritated. Dry skin is graving for hydration, moisture and products that help restore and strengthen the skin barrier to stop more water from escaping from the skin. Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum offers dry skin the relief it’s asking for. Packed with skin-nourishing ceramides, vitamins and a balanced essential fatty acids ratio, the oil serum helps balance the oil production, strengthen the skin barrier and soothe dry skin.

For dry skin, add a couple of more drops of the oil serum to your routine, and add it to the skin as the last step of your skincare routine to get the best benefits of this beautiful oil.

Dehydrated skin is not a skin type, but a common skin condition. Skin gets dehydrated when it loses more water than it can retain. Dehydrated skin may look dull, have deepened fine lines and wrinkles, and be more prone to breakouts.

Dehydrated skin is asking for water, hydration, and skin barrier repair to stop water from evaporating from the skin. Oil cleansing is a perfect way to start your routine for dehydrated skin as it’s gentle, doesn’t strip off the important oils of the skin and helps keep the skin soft. Rehydrate & Balance Beauty Essence is the product to treat dehydrated skin. It offers the skin the hydration it needs together with antioxidant protection from the elements and skin barrier-repairing probiotics.

For dehydrated skin, we recommend layering beauty essence on damp skin followed by face oil or moisturiser to lock all the hydration in. The oil will also work as an occlusive to prevent any further water from evaporating the skin.

Breakout-prone skin needs gentle care. Breakouts are your body’s way to tell that something’s off. Gentle cleansing, products with anti-inflammatory agents such as niacinamide with skin barrier strengthening ingredients help calm and soothe breakout-prone skin. We recommend the full Jenny Nordic Balance & Glow Ritual for breakout-prone skin. While the Beauty Essence (that contains niacinamide) works to calm down the inflammation and provides the skin with calming probiotics, adding two drops of the Oil Serum as the last step will help soothe and nourish the skin.

Oily skin means that your skin is producing more oil than other skin types. It’s a common misconception that oily skin doesn’t need moisturising. Squalane resembles closely the oils skin is producing naturally. Adding squalane-based oil like Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum to your routine can help stop the overproduction of oil and balance the skin.
