The beauty of face oils - 3 ways to use Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum
Share
Did you know that face oil is probably one of the most versatile skincare products? You might think adding oil to the skin might be counterproductive, increasing shininess and breakouts. But let me assure you, there's a face oil for every skin and skin type.
What is face oil?
The best face oils are made of 100% botanical and unrefined plant oils that deliver their benefits to your skin. Every single oil has a unique fatty acid profile, and by mixing together different oils you'll get oils and serums that help you and your skin in different ways.
Oil serums help the skin maintain a healthy barrier and seal in all the moisture and hydration. As we age skin eventually starts working less efficiently which can lead to skin losing moisture. Skin lacking moisture can create deeper lines and wrinkles and appear dull - our key well-ageing tip is to hydrate and moisturise the skin. Well-hydrated and moisturised skin looks revitalised and healthy.
How to use oil serums and face oils?
There are many ways how you can add face oil to your skincare routine. We've listed here our three favourite ways to incorporate Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum in your skincare routine, hoping that you can find inspiration and new ideas for your own use as well.
1. Apply face oil on clean damp skin
Skin needs both water and oil, hydration and moisture. In this simple skincare routine, you massage face oil on a damp face after cleansing to seal in the hydration from water and feed the skin all the nutrients it can get from the face oil. This technique works best when your skin is in balanced, unproblematic state and well-hydrated. We turn to this especially in the summer when the skin generally feels at its best.
2. Mix face oil together with your essence, mist or toner
When you’re in a rush, or just don’t feel like layering skincare, mixing your products in your palm can be the right solution for you. Moisturisers are emulsions, a blend of water and oil - kept together by an emulsifier. When you are mixing your essence and face oil together you are essentially creating a moisturiser - just without the emulsifier.
3. Layer on top of your essence to increase hydration
Get the most out of all of your products. When you layer your skincare you give the products extra time to absorb into the skin. The rule of thumb is that start with the lightest products and finish with the richest - usually with your face oil.
Instead of applying your oil on damp face you can gently press essence or mist to the skin. These products are there to hydrate the skin the same way as water, but also contain other ingredients that will benefit the skin.
When you massage your oil serum on top you seal all the goodness to the skin and prevent any moisture from escaping. Your skin will appear plumber, smooth and glowing. We love layering Glow & Revitalize Oil Serum with Rehydrate & Balance Beauty Essence.
