Do we need different skincare for summer and why?
The skin’s needs change during the seasons. With the weather changing our skin’s needs change, too. This doesn’t mean you need to change your routine completely, you can adjust your skincare ritual to each season with small tweaks. Your skin might love more lightweight products during the summer than colder winter months.
During the summer offering the skin plenty of hydration becomes the key. The increased UV radiation means more free radicals and offering skin protection is essential. Antioxidants help neutralise free radicals by donating their electrons. This neutralises and stabilises the free radicals and prevents future damage. Including products with high anti-oxidant levels will help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, dull, and dark spots to mention a few.

The most important steps of a summer skincare routine
Keeping your skincare routine minimal and uncomplicated is easy in the summer. Your summer skincare routine can be as minimal as you wish, depending on your skin concerns and type.

The most important steps of your summer skincare are cleansing and SPF. For some, sweating and sunscreens cause breakouts during the summer. An oil-based cleanser draws dirt and grime out from the pores and removes effortlessly all the SPF, both mineral and chemical types, preventing any pimples from forming.
SPF prevents sun damage and hyper-pigmentation on the skin. Be sure to use at least factor 30 protection and apply generously on the face as the last step of your morning skincare routine.
In the summer skin is thirsty for hydration. Rehydrate & Balance Beauty Essence contains skin-hydrating ingredients such as Swedish fermented oat extract and glycerin. It also contains niacinamide that helps prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL), so it's a perfect product for that well-hydrated, dewy and plump summer skin look. Antioxidant-rich lingonberry helps fight free radicals that UV light increases in the skin.

- Hydration. Summer skin is thirsty for hydration. Press a few drops of Beauty Essence onto damp clean skin.
- Seal the hydration in and offer antioxidant protection. Massage a few drops of Glow and Revitalize Oil Serum onto your skin. It’ll give the skin all the essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals needed to stay soft and glowy.
- Reach out for your gua sha tool to massage the face a few times a week. This will help reduce any puffiness, increase the product and active ingredient absorption and relax facial muscles.
